Hunter™ Zinc

Zahner Preweathered Zinc Patina

Zahner Pre-weathered metal patinas on Zinc the most resilient and stable oxidized surfaces in the industry. Hunter™ Zinc is no different. Originally developed by Zahner for the roof and wall panels on Hunter Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee for Architect Randall Stout FAIA. Since then, the same patina has been used on a small number of projects, including Randall Stout's latest project, the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.

The patinas that Zahner has developed are a direct result of twenty years of experimentation with Zinc patination. The development of stable patinas on zinc requires a strong background in science, and an understanding of chemical compounds, various climates, and their atmospheric and local conditions. The Hunter™ Patina on Zinc is one of the most consistent, predictable, and stable preweathered products available in the world.

The patina developed for the Hunter Museum was perfected by L. William Zahner himself. CEO and President of Zahner, Bill Zahner wrote the textbook on metal surfaces, and he's also known for working hands on with metal sculptures and patinas on the weekends. The Hunter™ Patination and oxidation process involves a proprietary solution.
