Apple Stores
Apple Stores produced by Zahner
Zahner produces several finishes that attracted Apple over a decade ago when they opened their first flagship store in New York's Soho district. Part of the reason Zahner was chosen to produce the metalwork on these projects was due to the new finishes had began producing on Stainless Steel, not unlike the finishes Apple would go on to use on their own products. Of the finishes produced by Zahner®, the Angel Hair™ Mechanical finish and the GB-60™ Bead-blasted stainless surfaces are the highest quality stainless available on the market, and Apple wanted only the best for their emergence into the world of retail.
Zahner produced dozens of Apple Stores with several architects. Highlighted below are some of the more prominent locations Zahner produced, including stores designed by Gensler and by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. The Apple Store in Los Angeles was one of the first projects featuring Zahner's own GB-60™ Bead-Blasted Stainless steel. These projects were installed using a Dry-Joint Wall Panel system, custom fabricated to extremely tight tolerances for the Apple Computer stores.
SoHo - New York, NY flagship store
Mall of America - Bloomington, MN
The Grove - Los Angeles, CA - high-profile store
Ala Moana - Honolulu, HI -
Chestnut Hill - Chestnut Hill, MA -
North Michigan Avenue - Chicago, IL - flagship store
Third Street Promenade - Santa Monica, CA
Boca Raton - Boca Raton FL
Short Pump Town Center - Richmond, VA
University Village - Seattle, WA
Legacy Village - Lyndhurst, OH
Tysons Corner - McLean, VA
Shadyside - Pittsburgh, PA
Zahner also performed detailed metalwork on over a dozen additional apple stores. High-Profile & Flagship Stores are locations which Apple is more invested in. These stores are often much larger standalone locations, and have more custom architectural features than the typical store.
