Zahner is the largest AEC corporate user of Dassault Systemes’ Catia 3D modeling software in the USA. Catia is the premium package when it comes to digital modeling and BIM processing and is the same software used to design complex curvilinear forms for modern aircraft.
This year, Zahner’s Director of Design Technology, Jonathan Asher, will present at the COE Conference (formerly the CATIA Operators Exchange), which is the largest meeting of Catia and Dassault Systemes users in the world.
Asher’s presentation Advanced Knowledgeware for AEC: Automation and Generative Powercopies to Build Complex Geometry will discuss how Zahner is leveraging algorithmic scripting and parametric modeling to efficiently produce facades and architectural systems where no two assemblies are identical.
These automated technologies are making otherwise complex geometries as efficient to build as far more rudimentary designs. Examples of recent projects made possible by automation include Emerson LA, the residences at Albany 8 in the Bahamas, the University of Southern Indiana Theatre, whose interior aluminum metal feature walls were completed last month.
