Meet the New ImageWall®
A new interface gives designers and architects more powerful tools to create perforated metal.
Today we’re proud to introduce the new ImageWall — and we want you to share it too! Download the press release and images to promote our latest foray into the technologies of tomorrow.
Nearly three years ago, we officially launched ImageWall, an online experience for designing and manufacturing bespoke perforated metal panel systems. Today, ImageWall enters a new era of design collaboration, offering even more powerful tools for designers to rapidly create, price and purchase custom metal.
Initially launched as a beta app on our ShopFloor platform, the ImageWall team synthesized customer feedback to improve upon the online tool, transforming the way designers and architects specify product. A new business model, built around the Zahner patented technology to translate an image across metal, allows flexibility for the ImageWall team to continue setting their sights on the future of metal.
The updated ImageWall design tool includes a host of new features to make customizing your ImageWall system easier and faster than ever.
Know the Price
The new ImageWall tool expands data transparency. In addition to real-time pricing (a holdover feature from the first version), you can now see cost per square foot and panel count. More information makes planning based upon construction realities much easier.
Create New Typologies
In addition to feature walls and facades, you can now create standalone screens and even ImageWall system ceilings. Different design typologies are engineered for site specific conditions, both interior and exterior – including built in calculations based upon wind loads at your install location.

Designers using ImageWall can now preview at scales up to 200′ long.

Make It Bigger (or Smaller)
The new ImageWall system increases the capabilities for creating large and small-scale projects online. New coding expands project limitations (from the old 11′ x 20′) to a massive 200′ x 100′, allowing users to design, preview and order all within the online design tool. Even larger projects are possible through direct collaboration with the ImageWall team.
Design (and Re-Design) Faster
The new ImageWall UI loads incredibly fast and no longer requires users to automatically create an account to use the tool. Saving and exporting designs is much easier, allowing you to design more projects more often.

Order Your ImageWall System
Once designed, each ImageWall is further refined by the capable team of architects, engineers, software developers, and artists that comprise the ImageWall team. Each ImageWall system is built to order and shipped to your site, carefully packaged, ready for installation.
Trusted Craftsmanship
The ImageWall system combines cutting-edge technology with a long tradition of superior craftsmanship. The end-product is fully engineered, with seamless transitions and a variety of proprietary finishes only available through ImageWall or Zahner.
Easy to Install
Designed for easy installation through a proprietary Drop and Lock™ cleat system, panels are attached with minimal use of tools and no site welding, cutting or adhesives.

Working with engineers, the perforated metal can be endlessly customized.

ImageWall 3.0 — How did we get here?
The ImageWall team has grown, and so has the industry at large. Mass customization and manufacturing on demand continue to trend upward, not just in architecture, but in other industries as well. Companies are increasingly offering customized experiences to keep up with buyer demand for unique, differentiating products. Think of Coca Cola’s touch screen drink dispenser, Nike’s custom shoe generator or even Etsy, an entire DIY platform built on connecting consumers to custom producers.
This same user-controlled experience is what ImageWall brings to the art, design, and architecture communities. More than just a novel way to design, ImageWall allows users to control specifications of perforated metal systems. By offering a means through which designers can specify exactly what they need, users gain insight into the production process, becoming an active participant in it.

A Growing Company (Within a Company)
Since its initial launch in 2015, the online ImageWall experience has resulted in a 400% project increase. As of today, an ImageWall is installed in 23 U.S. states, including Hawaii, and 3 Canadian provinces. More than 3,600 people have signed up for the online app, generating projects from small branded signage to entire facades. The ImageWall system has been used for branding, feature walls, parking garages and other various projects.
Clients include private individuals, interior designers, owners, and architects. An average of 400 new users per quarter sign up for the ImageWall experience. The rapid success of the small start-up initiative has necessitated a complete overhaul of the ImageWall interface and website, making both more accessible with enhanced customization options and a more refined process.
