The Ballpark at America First Square
The Ballpark at America First Square is the new home of the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees and the centerpiece of Downtown Daybreak, a 200-acre mixed-use district in South Jordan, Utah. Designed by HOK and built by Oakland Construction, the privately funded 8,000-seat stadium blends modern amenities with an intimate baseball experience. The facility features field-level VIP suites, flexible club areas, and a 12,000-square-foot clubhouse with Major League–caliber training spaces and batting cages. A defining element of the design is its façade, fabricated by Zahner, using Angel Hair® Stainless Steel and ImageWall® Perforated Metal Panel System. Inspired by the surrounding Wasatch Mountains, the 358 perforated stainless steel panels create a dynamic play of light and shadow during the day, transforming into a glowing landmark at night with backlighting. This mountain motif anchors the ballpark to its setting, while also providing ventilation and visual texture to the overall form.
