Prominent in its upper westside location in Manhattan, The Cheryl and Philip Milstein Teaching and Learning Center is a new academic hub in the heart of the Barnard College campus. Designed by the award-winning firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, the 128,000 square foot building features a five-floor base plinth which transitions into a slim eleven floor tower that is aligned with the existing STEM facility of Altschul Hall.
Zahner supplied custom Baroque™ patinated zinc sheets which were fabricated by ArtaZN to the details developed by Island Exterior Fabricators as part of their Design Assist contract for the unitized panel assembly.
The Milstein Center stands at the core of a Barnard education and at the center of the Morningside Heights campus and celebrates the College’s stellar faculty, ambitious students, and dedicated staff.
As Barnard looks to the future, the zinc surfaces will age elegantly as the College continues in its role as a premier institution for women of intellect, ambition, and vision.
